The University of New Hampshire and the University of Maine meet in a regular season finale that had both teams playing for bragging right in the annual Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket.
The game was a nip-tuck battle with both teams turning the ball over and opening opportunities for each other. In the end the UNH Wildcats came up with a victory 30-27.
The ‘Cats came out strong with Kevin Decker connecting with R.J Harris (#15) for a 34 yard touchdown.
The surprise standout of the game, UNH’s Nico Steriti (#22) launches himself past Maine defender Raibon Charles (#92). Steriti got his first career start for Wildcats and made the most of it.
UNH’s Matt Evan’s (#52) sizes up the Maine offense during the snap. Evans had 12 tackles on the day.
The Maine defense gave UNH quarterback Kevin Decker (#14) problems all day but he was able to still lead the Wildcats going 16 for 30 with 203 yards, 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
Damarr Aultman (#88) had a big game for Maine offensively making 12 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown
UNH’s Chris Houston (#37) went stride for stride against Maine’s offense coming up with a game high 2 interceptions.
UNH’s Rico Steriti (#22) gets tied up with Maine’s Arron Achey (#33) during one of his 21 rushing attempts where he gained a game high 150 yards on the ground and had a touchdown.
R.J. Harris (#15) leaps up past Maine’s Trevor Coston (#3) to grab his second touchdown of the day. Harris finished with 6 receptions for a game high 106 yards.
Maine quarterback Warren Smith (#8) was 24 fro 41 for 200 yards. He threw 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. He also ran for 38 yards and had a rushing touchdown.
UNH’s Jimmy Giansante (#82) had one reception on the day but made it count as he watches his blockers en route to the end zone.

The UNH Wildcats proudly show off the coveted Brice-Cowell Musket after winning on Senior Day. The Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket versus arch rival University of Maine dates back to 1903.
With the win the 11th ranked Wildcats moved to 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the CAA. They also received an at-large bid to play in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision on December 3rd against Montana State.
