UNH Hockey sweeps weekend series against Providence College

In front of a packed Whittemore Center house of 6500 plus fans the University of New Hampshire Men’s hockey team completed a weekend sweep over Providence College with a 5-1 win Saturday evening.

The puck in the glove was a familiar site as UNH goalie Matt DiGirolamo (#30) made 37 saves on the night.

UNH Sophomore Dalton Speelman (#10) shields the puck into the boards. Speelman had a productive night scoring a goal and adding an assist.


Sophomore John Henrion (#16) scored UNH’s fifth goal of the night. It was Henrion’s 15th goal of the season.


Senior captain Mike Sislo (#19) looks on as the Wildcats continued their strong offensive presence scoring five goals for the second straight night. Sislo recorded his team leading 23rd assist.


Paul Thompson is one point shy of 100 for his career. He will become the third granite stater in UNH history to hit the century mark.

UNH drops the puck again at the Whittemore Center for a Friday and Saturday match up against the University of Maine. Friday’s game start at 7:30pm and Saturday’s at 7pm, both can be seen on NESN.
